Assigning Activities to Specific Students

Feature Summary

Teachers can control whether a student has an activity appear on their Assignments page or not. 

  • If a student is not assigned to an activity, the activity will not show on their Assignment page’s list of activities or their past due panel.
  • If a student is not assigned to an activity, it will show as a grey box in the gradebook.
  • Assign specific activities to students who need more practice
  • Assign activities to students who may be moving at a faster pace and then assign the rest of the students later.

 

How to use

  1. Click on any colored activity title in the Lesson plan to open the pop-up for the Lesson Activity Info Dialog
  2. Open the Assign feature by clicking the students icon in this pop-up:

    • You can also assign students by clicking the arrow next to the TEACH button on the activity tile and hovering over Instructional Options:

  1. Select which students you want to assign this to

    • NOTE: If student(s) have already started the activity and are being unassigned, then their work will be deleted.

  2. Click the ASSIGN button
    • Students who are assigned will see it on their Assignments page. Anyone not assigned will not be able to view the activity on their Assignments page.
    • Teachers will see an icon on the Lesson Activity tile representing that a subset of students has been assigned to thisactivity.

  3. If a student is not assigned to an activity, it will show as a grey box in the gradebook.
