What is the GitHub Portfolio Export feature, and why is it important?
This new feature allows students to export their coding projects from TechSmart to an accessible repository on GitHub, an industry-standard code repository platform.
Who is the GitHub Portfolio Feature Available To?
Exporting to a GitHub Portfolio is currently only available to students enrolled in our CS300-level courses.
We may extend this feature to students enrolled in other advanced-level courses in the future.
Why is a GitHub Portfolio Important for Students?
Showcasing Skills
A GitHub Portfolio is a practical showcase of coding skills, projects, and technical understanding. It provides a tangible way to demonstrate what a student learned and what they can do beyond academic grades or certificates.
Enhancing Resumes and Job Applications
Having a GitHub portfolio can significantly strengthen a student's application when applying for internships or jobs. Employers and recruiters often review candidates' GitHub profiles to assess their coding abilities and project involvement.
By exporting TechSmart coding projects to a GitHub portfolio, students preserve their work and create a dynamic space to grow and showcase their development as coders. This feature is a stepping stone toward professional growth and continuing educational opportunities.
