To preview the guidance students have available on a particular activity, you can change the Class Difficulty Level for that activity, and then open the activity. Just don't forget to change the Class Difficulty back to what you'd like it set to after previewing it.
If you're looking for a more general idea of what each Difficulty Level looks like, you can see this from the Change Difficulty Dialog, by clicking on one of the Level labels at the top of each column.
