Planning Exercises represent the first half of a two-part activity, with the second half consisting of a Coding Exercise Activity. A Planning Exercise will always be followed by a Coding Exercise, as students write no code during a Planning Exercise.
Planning Exercise Activities support students in mastering one or more learning objectives for a Lesson:
- Demonstrate an authentic example of the Lesson's topic solving a real-world problem.
- Provide a dedicated space for students to focus on code structure and design before they are required to write code.
- Creates a classroom environment in which teachers and students share responsibility for learning and generating new ideas.
- Prepares students to begin the Coding Exercise Activity with a well-defined plan.
