Selecting 1 or 2 Presentation windows (CS100/200 Python)

Follow

Who is this available for?

This setting is only available for those teaching Python courses

Skylark courses are only taught with one additional screen.

What does this change?

This changes the number of additional tabs that appear when you click the Classroom Setup Button when opening a coding project.

Why select 1 presentation window?

One presentation window will appear when you click the Classroom Setup Button Screen_Shot_2021-05-12_at_7.29.14_AM.pngand you switch between presenting the Slides or Code by selecting it in the toolbar of the Code view.

  • You only have 1 additional projector / display in your classroom.
  • You are teaching to students remotely.
    • Since you can't share multiple screens simultaneously over web meetings, it is easiest to use 1 presentation window and switch between presenting the Slides or Code.

Why select 2 presentation windows?

Two presentation windows will appear when you click the Classroom Setup Button Screen_Shot_2021-05-12_at_7.29.14_AM.png. One for Slides and one for Code. These are then dragged to separate projectors/displays for students to see.

    • You have 2 additional projectors / displays in your classroom.

The major benefit of a 2 additional projectors / displays in your classroom is that you don't have to switch between displaying the Slides or Code like in the 1 presentation window setup.

Where is this setting?

This is a setting that is selected while going through the Class Setup Wizard to set up your class in the Course section.

If at a later time you want to change the setting, go to edit the class, change the Projector Settings, and then apply the changes.
